Yep. I look after a lot of elderly folks and have seen it happen over the past five years to at least three of them. They gradually start getting raunchy and eventually they have a tough time saying anything that isn't extremely inappropriate, vulgar, focused only on sex and/or excretions. The built-in censor has broken down.

I have often wondered about that with dementia as we watched my m-i-l deteriorate from it and have seen the same in others.

I always wondered if the dementia actually changed their personalities, or whether is just removed their natural inhibitions and restraint and it was just letting the real them show through. Which is a disturbing thought to think that’s what they may have really been like deep down underneath the graciousness and courtesy they otherwise displayed all their lives.
