This is fairly constant in the German press. Every few weeks there's a prediction of Ukrainian defeat. The Germans simply want the war to end and are willing to concede as much of someone else's territory or sovereignty as is necessary. They're pigs, which is why no one in Europe trusts them at all.
Putin has made it clear as he can that NATO joining with troops means he will nuke us.
