Trump gave an interview on Thursday to Hugh Hewitt, who repeatedly asked him to spill on what disparaging nicknames he plans to use against those who compete with him in the 2024 Republican primary. When Hewitt floated Glenn Youngkin (R) as a possible bid, Trump referred to the Virginia Governor as a “disappointment,” complaining that he didn’t get enough gratitude from Youngkin or his team even though “I did a lot for him. And he got elected because of me, just like Ron DeSantis. Even more so.”
DeSantis is often considered Trump’s biggest potential primary threat, and the former president has been opening fire on the governor ever since the midterm elections. Trump often claims DeSantis would’ve never won his governors race without his endorsement, so as soon as Trump brought up DeSantis’ name, the floodgates opened for a full-scale attack.
“He had nothing! He was dead, he was leaving the race, he came over and he begged me, begged me, for an endorsement. He was getting ready to drop out,” Trump said. He then shared how DeSantis supposedly grovelled for his help in beating Adam Putnam in Florida’s Republican primary
"There were tears coming down from his eyes. He said ‘if you endorse me, I’ll win,’ said Trump. “So I end up doing it, and he wins. They say it was like a bomb went off. Just a bomb totally went off. From the moment I endorsed him, he went from losing by numbers that were not catchable to winning easily.”
This went on with Trump saying “everything collapsed” for Putnam from the moment he endorse DeSantis, and that “I got him past the crackhead [Andrew Gillam], who was the hottest person in the Democratic Party at the time.”

Trump should NOT be degrading DeSantis in public. Democrats do not go on the air and mock their comrades. For whatever reason, Trump doesn’t understand this.
There are to many people in our base NOW the MAGA base that are just unwilling to hold their nose and vote anymore THEY ARE DONE with RINOS!! Yes Fetterman is a God forsaken mess BUT Fetterman had won the race way before Election Day, way before the people of PA. had any idea what kind of shape Fetterman was in!! The Dems had the boxes stuffed with ballot harvesting ect. way before the debate, OZ was the wrong person to get the base out in DROVES to overcome this!! OZ was not a fighter to bring out the mental condition of Fetterman OZ did NOT HAVE the fire in the belly and if OZ did NOT have the FIGHT campaigning people KNEW he would NOT be a fighter in the office!! PA. is winnable Trump proved that but you need a gutter fighter to do it, and the republicans are a bunch of pussys PERIOD!! Trump backing OZ was a huge mistake, just as Trump sending his people quietly to Dana Point to fight for Ronna was a MASSIVE MISTAKE!! Trump making these decisions is also depleting his base people are getting FED UP!!

He knows that DeSantis is the biggest threat to his Presidency at this time. Politics is war without bloodshed. Two things will happen. DeSantis survives this onslaught and becomes stronger or he doesn’t run.
Either way I will still vote Trump until someone steps up that can truly save this country (DeSantis has not proven that too me, but he has come the closes outside of Trump). I am not going to cry over a political battle.
Trump has proven himself a warrior (coup attempts by intelligence agencies, fake impeachments, corrupted FBI, Corrupt DOJ, etc... and has weather the storm). DeSantis’ turn. If you think the Dems will be easy on him, I got a bridge for sale.
That works both ways. Trump's attacks on DeSantis will hurt both men.
Between the two of them destroying each other, plus millions more migrant voters, and an ever more efficient election fraud machine, it's looking pretty grim for Republicans in 2024.
Trump demands loyalty from those he’s helped which includes DeSantis, loyalty is a two street, if Trump wants loyalty he needs to be loyal himself, DeSsantis has announced any candidacy for POTUS yet Trump is attacking him

Donald Trump is being Donald Trump. He has ALWAYS had an outsize ego, if one studies his past business dealings and his personal interchanges. Even his first wife, Ivana, referred to him as “the Donald”, and she had ample opportunity to study up close and deal with that highly inflated and sometimes cartoonish image he holds of himself.
To be sure, the man has a most astonishing capability of convincing people that he is the most “alpha” male in whatever room he finds himself to be in, which has served him well as a business tycoon and as a leader in international affairs. Other world leaders were frankly AFRAID to challenge his massive moral composure and downright cocksure assertive manner, and may even have been a little ashamed of themselves for what must have seemed to be buckling under the sweep of what was almost a force of Nature.
Is it a good look for Trump? Probably not, but is it effective? Most assuredly so, as he had Chairman Xi by the short hairs, and Kim Jong-un thoroughly intimidated. Even Putin was quite subdued, and the Iranian ayatollahs given serious pause.
And there was no question that our southern border was just about fully secured.
DeSantis seems to be living in Trump’s head.

Now you have a guy, a proven favorite, accomplished, sizing up his competition, going after him aggressively where that competition is funded by and beholden to big donors just like bushromneyobamamccainclintkn and you want the guy to stop

Trump is competing in a primary. This is how he competes.
You prefer Mitch? Who fights behind closed door. Who fights to keep the senate in the minority.
If you prefe DeSantis then fine. But to put down trump for fighting doesn’t make sense. He’s already proven that he works for the American people. We already know he is a by far favorite. Look at bush in that photo schmoozing on DeSantis.
They’re the family that promotes Liz Cheney for going after trump. While she’s gasping for votes the people don’t want her or her bush family. What’s Jeb smiling at there. That’s what is at stake

Being a Florida voter I remember how close it was for that election.
What we had was a Fetterman/Warnock type Dem vs DeSantis and at least to me getting Trumps endorsement helped him ......
The Donald uses various techniques to tweak the MSM so wouldn’t put it past him that this is one of those.
He endorsed DeSantis this last go around also, thats what really matters.
Crying could be just the verbal equivalent not actual tears.....
Don’t forget Trump is an East Coast New Yorker and that type of hyperbole is just everyday talk....
