Former President Donald Trump unveiled his new plan to stop "out-of-control crime and keep all Americans safe" in a video released on Monday. In the video, the 2024 presidential candidate outlined how he "reduced violent crime and stood strongly with America’s law enforcement."
"On Joe Biden’s watch, violent crime has skyrocketed and communities have become less safe as he defunded, defamed, and dismantled police forces," Trump said. "Joe Biden and the ‘Defund the Police’ Democrats have turned our once great cities into cesspools of bloodshed and crime."
Trump outlined the steps he will take to make the United States a safer country.
A press release stated that "Trump will sign a record investment in hiring, retention, and training for police officers. The bill will increase vital liability protections for America’s law enforcement officers."
"Police forces have been gutted by Democrats," Trump said. "The Democrats want to take protections away from our police. We want them to do their jobs and we want them to do their jobs right," Trump said.
Secondly, Trump will require local law enforcement agencies receiving Department of Justice grants to "return to proven policing measures such as stop-and-frisk, strictly enforcing existing gun laws, cracking down on the open use of illegal drugs, and cooperating with ICE to arrest and deport criminal aliens."
Third, Trump said he will "take on the radical Marxist prosecutors who have abolished cash bail and refuse to charge criminals. President Trump will direct the DOJ to open civil rights investigations into radical leftist prosecutor’s officers, such as those in Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco to determine whether they have illegally engaged in race-based law enforcement."

His handling of those riots was poor and this is an understatement.
He did a great job snuffing out the ANTIFA and BLM insurrection. /s
I don’t want the federal government dictating law enforcement tactics for every jurisdiction in the country.
The States and local governments have the powers. Don’t see how this would happen. He can suggest all he wants.
Any plan that doesn’t include building more prisons is doomed to fail. You have to get the bad guys off the streets.

The damage to law enforcement is very deep and it will take a generation before officers feel confident acting in a pro-active and aggressive manner because one bad “narrative” and you are done.
Why take the chance? Officers are answering their calls on the radio and writing reports...... reducing crime usually requires aggressive policing but that exposes the officer to the risks because they cannot control the behavior or decisions of increasingly emboldened criminals. Politicians in many places run to a camera to hang them out to dry before even half the facts are known.
You can’t turn this around quickly. I applaud the intent and at least he is addressing it, but the rot from the “summer of love” is very deep in many places around the nation.

Donnie, great effort. However, even if the cops do their jobs,district attorneys and judges have been compromised. Soros bribe money and coercion. Our judicial system is corrupt.
