Federal Civil Lawsuits Against Kyle Rittenhouse in Wisconsin
AmmoLand ^ | February 27, 2023 | Dean Weingarten

Two civil lawsuits have been filed against Kyle Rittenhouse and others, stemming from Rittenhouse’ self-defense shootings of three men who assaulted him during the Kenosha riots. One of the lawsuits was filed by attorneys for Gaige Grosskruetz, who was wounded after pursuing Kyle Rittenhouse and while pointing his pistol at Kyle. The Grosskruetz lawsuit was filed in 2020.  An amendment to the complaint was filed on February 14, 2021, adding Rittenhouse’ name. The other lawsuit was filed by attorneys representing the estate of Anthony Huber, who attacked Rittenhouse with a skateboard after pursuing Rittenhouse while he was on the ground, just after fending off another attack. The lawsuit was filed August 17, 2021. By chance both lawsuits are being held before Judge Lynn Adelman.

Judge Lynn Adelman is a well know Democrat. He was appointed as a federal judge in 1997 by President Clinton. In 2020, he published a political paper railing against the Supreme Court.  The Seventh Circuit mildly censured Adelman for publishing the political document, as judges are supposed to maintain a public image of political neutrality.  Adelman is 83 years old. Before he became a federal judge, he was a Democratic state senator in Wisconsin, representing Milwaukee, and a private attorney.  Judge Adelman dismissed the lawsuit against the Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm in the John Doe investigations case, where Chisholm actively persecuted Republicans for political purposes.  Adelman applied the absolute immunity doctrine for prosecutors, established by the Supreme Court in 1976, to stop the lawsuits.

Judge Adelman has a reputation of being fair as a judge, despite being an ideological and political Democrat.

The Grosskruetz case was filed over two years ago. In this situation, a case can be dismissed if the

The lawyers who file these lawsuits should be disbarred.

I guess the lawsuits are in Federal court because Rittenhouse deprived the two of their civli rights to attempt to kill him in the street, one with a skateboard and the other with a pistol.

I agree. But at least they were competent in their “lawfare” judge shopping phase.

My source from Kenosha is very good. They say Adelman has a good reputation as being fair.

Adelman is 83. He was raised at a time when Democrats were not crazy.

Judge Adelman went to the trouble, in his opinion, to state why the cases are not just thrown out. His statement is quoted in the article.

Thankfully, people are still Christian enough to not turn to vigilante justice.

With the upcoming turmoil, more and more people are carrying equalizers.

I hope you’re right. But my “agendanista” alert went off when I skimmed his article characterizing the Supreme Court’s recent rulings related to Voter ID as “Assaults on Democracy”. “Protecting Democracy” is the rationale given for so much of the lawfare being waged against ordinary decent citizens in recent years.

How much help did the corrupt government give the people who are filing these lawsuits?

If possible, Kyle should sue the attorneys for malpractice and malfeasance.. They are creating damages for him with these frivolous lawsuits.

Republican lawyers are routinely punished for representing Republican clients in cases resisting democrat misbehavior. The last elections come to mind. I wouldn’t be sorry to see democrat lawyers fear for their personal safety for participating in these politically motivated cases.

I’m always amused when rewatching Grosskreutz‘s testimony on his attack on Rittenhouse.

If you actually watch the video closely, you can see that Kyle actually repositioned his gun at the last minute, he chose to shoot him in the arm instead of center mass.

I used this bit to effectively convince several people that Rittenhouse was not just looking to go kill a bunch of people as the media was conditioning them to believe.
