On this date, April 18, in 1521, before the Diet Of Worms, Martin Luther took a courageous stand for intellectual innovation and religious freedom.
Christianity has been the constantly evolving and dominant moral foundation of The West for most of the past two thousand years.
In 2023, the Christian faith and life is now under secular attack on many fronts.
If it can stay true to the moral core of Jesus, it will survive.
But, as in the days of Martin Luther, that will require a judicious mix of courage, creativity and freedom.

According to my understanding... while Jesus wasn’t aggressive, He certainly wasn’t a pacifist
People have the right to burn in Hell.
Always wondering why Christians must do “this” or do “that” to save the world or to protect Christians from the world. Jesus did it all already. All Christians need do is to study the Word Of God to know what they are talking about and be able to back up what we believe with the simple Word of God...and then go out into the world to Preach the everlasting Gospel. That’s all. It really IS that simple. Man always makes thing more complicated that it needs to be as though WE are the saviours of the world. Instead of wielding the Word of God like it’s a hammer try LIVING a life of Loving those who hate you. It would seem many Christians are being taught by their peers that using the a word of God as a hammer is the right way but hammers only break things while Loving those who get on your last nerve is how Christians repair people. Remember...God Doesn’t use a hammer to Love people but you know who does use a hammer? “Communism is not love. Communism is a hammer we use to crush the enemy”. The word of God lays out a specific way to conduct a Christian life. You don’t have to but ask yourself...do you believe IN God or do you BELIEVE God? Fair question.

Good post, but paragraphs are your friend! 🙂
We must save Christianity by changing Christianity
Hm, heard that before
Point taken and thanks.
Hebrews 13:8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Christ is the same but the “church” is not. It has become feminized.
.
You are right.
For yourself.
For some others.
But for everyone?
That’s God’s job.
Thanks.
It evolves.
Adapts.
Changes in some ways and stays the same in others.
Yes.
A feminised church is only a part of what it should be ........
Ummmm - Christianity is a personal thing...between one and Jesus...You can’t ‘adapt” from that.
But the religions and those who profit from them can change their tune to protect themselves - because they aren’t Christianity...
I agree. We don’t need to change Christianity, but we do need to teach manhood and masculinity. Jesus wasn’t a sissy.
It’s also incumbent on the church to inform their members of the storm that is massing against them. Refusing to inform them about the culture wars that are affecting their family and their lives is incomprehensible.
“But we just preach the Gospel” is an absolute pansy copout, yet it’s totally prevalent in today’s church.
We hold up Bonhoffer, Ten Boom and Wurmbrand as heroes of the faith then refuse to be heroes ourselves as we capitulate to the state and the atheist culture.
Eric Metaxis’ book Letter to the American Church illuminates the failure perfectly.
“Quit ye like men” bump!
I Corinthians 16:13 is rapidly becoming a favorite verse.
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.
I can see that you are living it. Keep up the good fight, Brother, our salvation draweth nigh!
