It’s a concertina, but cool video still!
No, cows get bored. Counting bugs at the end of your nose finds music a nice pasture distraction.
Cows also love to watch pipeline welders. So much so they get damaged retinas by watching the welds.
She’s wearing Farmers Cologne.
I think that it is real. I’ve seen a video of a young Swedish woman calling cows with a unique form of singing/ululation, and it’s apparently a method used in Swedish farming. So, cows DO seem to have an affinity for human “music.”
“It’s a concertina, but cool video still!”
Also her musical skills are very good on the concertina. For what, she looks to be 8-9 years old?
I agree it’s real, but the instrument is a concertina, not an accordion.
/nitpicking mode
Yes. And they are much smarter than most people know.
I miss the Far Side.
Thanks. Derek is good with the cows that started mooing at the end. I checked out YouTube and this girl playing concertina/ cow’s video turns out to be 5 years old and with 5 million views

It wouldn’t take long to train them for that. Just like “C’m, Boss” before feeding (and often milking) time.
Stupid things kids did before cell phones and Facebook.

Wow!
“It wouldn’t take long to train them for that. Just like “C’m, Boss” before feeding (and often milking) time.”
I agree that the cows coming was not all due to the girl’s music. That this was tied into feeding time for the cows. Train the cows like Pavlov’s dogs, to come get their feed when they hear the concertina music.
You had no cable TV back then, and for sure no computers, tablets, phones for the internet. Screen time was an hour of black and white TV with fuzzy reception. And corny jokes.
No trick. The cows associate it with something they like. I see this often when my neighbor arrives at my pasture gate to dispense food supplements to his beef cattle. They must like the taste, I guess, because they’ll RUN from the farthest corners to greet him. They know my truck is not his - they ignore me.
