I think banning Charlotte’s web is a bit much. I think banning books if necessary is fine but I think they are taking it too far!!!! It looks silly after awhile. And does republicans no favors.
First, look at this website you linked to:
Look at who sponsors this site: AmeriCorps. Hellman Foundation. Jeff Bezos. This is a Murderer's Row of Leftism. They can be trusted to be truthful on nothing, because Leftists lie like humans breathe.
Then, when I scrolled down to read the part about "Charlotte's Web", it has no details. Just that it was 'on a list' somewhere. But they did have a link. When I looked at that link that provided any semblance of detail about who and what wanted to ban "Charlotte's Web" it said this:
"...but parents of one school district in Kansas disagreed due to the fact that the book featured talking animals. They considered this to be unnatural and blasphemous as humans are the highest level of God’s creation. They also took offense at the fact that the spider dies, which they considered to be inappropriate for a children’s book..."
Who says these people are even "Republicans" or that they stand for what conservative "Republicans" might stand for on ANY level? Heck, who even says it was more than one set of whack-job "parents" who wrote a letter to the school board? Do you really think a group of even five parents would put their signature on a document protesting Charlotte's Web on those grounds? Or even more than one set of "parents" would do that? Because I don't.
To accept the word of people who would enthusiastically lie about everything from medical science and vaccine safety to fake stories about Russian collusion and such, is not something I would be prepared to do.
The people who put out articles like that one you linked to have an agenda and a known history of deceit. This issue is not about banning "Charlotte's Web". It is about banning books in public school libraries that endorse homosexuality between children that graphically do so both pictorially and in writing.
People like the Leftists who sponsored that website you linked to want to change the narrative from banning books in school libraries with graphic sexuality of any kind, to "Republicans want to ban Charlotte's Web". Nothing personal here, but you need to take that with a grain of salt before saying these efforts make conservatives look bad.
