One of the greatest narrative deceptions is this: the real insurrectionists, meaning the ones who have taken over our government and institutions are revolutionary progressives and like-minded confederates who hate our nation and desire its destruction. But with a little narrative change magic, poof! the real insurrectionists are now the very people who defend our Constitutional Republic and attend MAGA rallies.
Exactly the perception the Leftists wish to create, too, changing us from Patriots who wish to defend the principles of the Constitution to Insurrectionists who wish to burn it.
I have heard it said often that Leftists are the Masters of Projection, and if you want to understand what they are up to, you need only see what they brand as evil and criticize, because that is what they are doing.
