A woman on a Memorial Day weekend trip to Little Rock, Arkansas was forced to shoot a man in self-defense after he attacked her and her husband in a parking garage while the couple was packing up their vehicle for the ride home.
According to Little Rock police, the suspect first approached the husband as he was putting some items on the roof of their vehicle, coming up from behind and striking him several times before making a move towards the driver-side door.
Another victim, who was in the passenger’s seat of the car, told officers that the suspect got into the front seat of the vehicle and hit her in the face with his fist. The report said she told police that she pulled out her pistol and shot toward the suspect, striking him in the head and neck area.
Once the suspect fell to the ground, the report said that woman in the car called 911.
Officers said that two children were in the vehicle at the time of the attempted carjacking and shooting.
Once officers arrived at the scene and made sure the victims were safe, they began first aid on the suspect until medical personnel arrived.

I’m glad she was able to protect herself and her family. The person who attacks an innocent person has lost his right to live. The innocent person has the right to do whatever is necessary to protect himself.
Probably just one of the unhoused trying to get to a job interview.

Did he have a gun ? Why does she get to use a gun?
She should have minded her own business .

Why didn’t she just wing him a little?
Why didn’t she call a dispute moderator ?
Why didn’t she wait for the police ?

I’m sure those questions will be asked of her at her trial. I hope her attorney has her well-prepared to answer for her actions. Some people are just SO violent. There was no need to respond in such a manner when it was just property. I’m sure the car was insured!

Stressful, I’m sure. I can imagine the children screaming, her worried about her husband, while at the same time having someone hitting her. While that’s going on, she is hoping the gun is under the seat where she recalls hubby putting it thinking “is the safety ‘on’ or ‘off’”. However, in all that she still managed to get the gun and shoot the attacker twice. I call that a damn great job!

I wish every self defense scenario had the intended victims take out the crimimals.
I am at a complete loss as to the nationality of the perpetrator...

No idea, but I suspect the mother emerged from the stupor produced by the drugs given to her while giving birth and named the child after the first company logo she saw in her room. Doesn’t “Markevious” sound like a medical equipment company?
Hard to say. There’s no description of Mr. Markevious King given.
He is black. Not hard to say at all.
When no description is given, that is a perfectly obvious description. The perpetrator's name makes it 99% certain for a racial identification.
Why does it matter? Because it does. When you haven't got information or time to get information, your best option is to play the odds. Or follow the stereotypes. They have survival value. That is why we keep making them.
Ignore stereotypes at your own peril.
There won’t be a trial for her in Arkansas. Open carry state for one and self defense number two. Gov Sara Huckabee will likely give the woman some kind of an award.
Well, my first thought was that she needs a bigger gun and some more range time!
