I’ll believe it when Biden and the Democrats start talking about “the food supply system” again.

Peaches aren’t exclusive to Georgia but this will probably make prices go up up up.

Well, there is. Climate Change is the root of all evil.

> The last time things were this bad was 1955 … <

Wait. So there was a Climate Change problem back in 1955. Then there wasn’t. And now there is again. Pretty darn confusing, if you ask me.

Biden first day decision to blunt natural gas production, caused an increase in fertilizer costs plus increases in the cost of generating electricity.

The liberals’ war against meat, has discouraged some alfalfa production.

Without fertilizer produced from natural gas, and without nutrients in some fields - provided from alfalfa crops, there are noticeable acres that remain unused this year. In contrast to the summer of 2021.

If Global Warming is actually happening, they can replace those peach trees with citrus trees. Problem solved.

Sheesh...they have no shame: “[peach crop] destroyed by a warming climate. The last time things were this bad was 1955.”

LOL...so what happened in 1955?

This last winter set in early while leaves were on the trees and left late this spring. Landscaping plants are dead and dying all over the place, even though it wasn’t bitter cold. People have lost junipers, roses, blackberries, and many more plants.

Can we blame this on climate change?

I call BS. Peaches are a warm weather crop, and warmer weather means a longer growing season.

The last I heard, many fruit crops were destroyed by cold weather.

The article has several examples of food doom this year:

-Horticulturists at the University of Georgia say roughly 90% of the Peach State’s crop has been destroyed by bad weather.

-it is being projected that a combination of factors will cause Florida’s orange harvest to be 56 percent smaller this year

-Drought has been so bad that over one-fourth of all winter wheat in the state of Kansas might not even get harvested

-U.S. beef cow herd is the smallest since 1962

and other food doom examples

Here in GA we had record cold. 4° overnight for three nights in December. This spring we had 2 late frosts that damaged my apple trees in full bloom.

Peaches HAD to have been hurt ... by cold.

We are in NW Hall county.

As soon as president Trump is back in office, as with restoring our pipeline projects, one more should be given priority. The fertilizer slurry pipeline is in sorry condition, yet supplies fertilizer to much of our heartland.

This fertilizer is essential to bountiful crops and harvests.
