Former President Donald Trump has now been arraigned and pleaded not guilty. He was represented by two lawyers, neither of whom he apparently wants to lead his defense at trial. He has been interviewing Florida lawyers, and several top ones have declined. I know, because I have spoken to them. There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.
There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers

Almost all top-tier USA criminal defense lawyers are committed Leftists and Biden donors.
Same story for public defenders.
Not one January 6 defendant has won a case with a public defender.
Of course, in Washington D.C., the FBI investigators, the prosecutors, all the jurors, and the Judge, are also committed Leftists and Biden donors.
It’s a contradiction in terms for a lawyer to refuse a fee (other then voluntary pro bono work)
If indeed ( and I doubt it) sone big time lawyer has turned President Trump’s fee down, it would seem likely that the attorney’s had his life threatened imho
Part of out totalitarian government...
Firstly define top tier….. then Id say because good lawyers can see the deck is stacked against them before a single motion is put forward. You would hope someone would take that as a challenge but going up against the DS is not a fun prospect.
Yup. If you had any doubts that we now live in a communist dictatorship.
BLACKMAIL!! WHY aren’t they being INDICTED??
“F. Lee Bailout” No thanks.
Never-trumpers on this site will insist that this is all well and good, because orange man bad. After all, it’s not fascism if it’s businesses and organizations that are carrying out the regime’s orders to politically persecute its enemies. It’s not like Gleichschaltung or anything.
If orange man bad, then what is the lawlessness unleashed in our cities? Or how about the abortion killing machine and sale of baby parts? Then there are the woman-hating Drag Queens inculcating toddlers and children with a twisted, perverse worldview. And what about crooked Soros DA's and the opening of our borders to illegals, criminals, rapists, thieves, and so on. Then there is the well-researched fact that America's dirty secret is child-sex slavery. Our land endorses child sex-slavery, pedophilia, and every manner of perversity.
If none of the above are 'bad,' then obviously evil doesn't exist, hence the orange man isn't bad either. So what does it mean when Never Trumpers see no evil in the very few examples given but yet see it in Trump? It means that for personal reasons they dare not face they choose to scapegoat Trump as the source of all evil.
Sorry but knowing someone who works as a lawyer at the level “Top Tier” is anything but.
What it really is about is networking, these “Top Tier” lawyers chum around and went to schools with the other power players and are given deference to their desires and opinions, it has little to nothing to do with talent and intellect.
... or his family.
Just a note: The best attorneys are easily found by going to Martinsdale and Hubbel. My best friend, a tax attorney, told me about this in 1975. Sadly, he died young from booze. One can use the internet now to use the ratings. The book used to be in libraries.
“The best attorneys are easily found by going to Martindale and Hubbell.”
I disagree. The MH ratings are primarily based upon anonymous peer reviews from other attorneys in the same location; and since many lawyers — particularly trial lawyers — are highly competitive, they have been known to sabotage their cross-town rivals by giving them mediocre reviews.
We just disagree.
We just disagree.
Dersh CAN revise his personal policy to not represent a client more than once. (He mentioned this last week.) Dersh CAN represent Trump if he wants to.
The dissenting lawyer are maybe being paid off by Soros, et.al., follow the money.
