On June 29, 2023, a Twitter account called “Erica Marsh” tweeted the following:
“Today’s Supreme Court decision is a direct attack on Black people. No Black person will be able to succeed in a merit-based system which is exactly why affirmative-action based programs were needed. Today’s decision is a TRAVESTY!!!”

I can’t tell if this is a real liberal, or a conservative troll trying to make fun of liberals.
Of course, regular readers of my blog know that I disagree with the comment.
I have always been in favor of high academic standards, and encouraged parents to send their children to high quality schools such as Marva Collins schools, Montessori schools, Catholic schools, and other schools that place high expectations on their students.
And I have always been opposed to the many instances of schools getting rid of their advanced and gifted classes in the name of “racial equity.”
And I have always encouraged college students to major in STEM, pre-med, nursing, or some other field that is in demand in the real world job market, and to steer away from useless, politically correct majors that have the word “studies” in their name.
I support high academic standards for all students.
I am against affirmative action.
Anyway, I really can’t tell if the above Twitter account is real, or a conservative troll making fun of liberals.

It’s a slavery based mentality to say affirmative action is needed.
What a racist thing to say.
Clarence Thomas? Thomas Sowell? They succeded without affirmative action.
And Dr. Ben Carson too.
It’s sarcasm by a conservative.
A real Leftist would have said that the vast network of white supremacists will keep down intelligent and qualified blacks unless affirmative action stops them.
To a Leftist, it is blasphemy to even consider that blacks are less intelligent or less qualified.
Its either a real liberal expressing their true belief, or a liberal troll trying to appear like what they think a conservative would say.
I’m not sure but the limited evidence available points toward the account being real. And yes, it stuns me too that someone could be, well...
Forty-five years of social promotes, dumbing down of qualifications, and the rise of the grievance industry got us to where we are today.
