Ron Decided to Run for POTUS in 2020, Despite Denials & Shadow Campaigning [He admits it in FoxNews Interview]
The National Pulse ^ | July 27, 2023 | JACK MONTGOMERY

Posted on 07/27/2023 2:20:35 PM PDT by SoConPubbie

Presidential candidate Ron DeSantis has admitted that he and his wife Jill, a.k.a Casey, decided he would make a run at the White House all the way back in November 2020, in little-noticed remarks to Fox News highlighted by The National Pulse editor-in-chief Raheem Kassam.

Asked when he and his wife decided they would betray Donald Trump and throw their proverbial hat in the ring, Governor DeSantis gave a surprising response:

“So, I would say starting in November of 2020, the number one thing I would get on the street is 2024. Our view is, are you the one to beat Biden and actually deliver on this stuff over an eight-year period, to serve two terms? And we came to the conclusion that we were the ones to do it and to get it done, and so, there’s been no looking back.”

“Hold on a minute, November 2020? So everything else, the gubernatorial reelect, all the chit-chat in between, all of the denials, all of the, like, ‘Oh, well, we’re looking at it, we don’t know, we’re not sure’ – all of that turned out to be disingenuous bullshit,” Kassam observed on The Campaign Trail podcast.

Indeed, DeSantis claimed speculation he was mulling a presidential bid was “manufactured” and dismissed it as “nonsense” in July 2021, again denying he was considering it in October, and and yet again as late as August 2022, when he suggested all the chatter around him running was the product of “media obsession”.

These assertions may make DeSantis, already tarnished as treacherous by the former president, look even more untrustworthy now he had disclosed they were never true.

I don't have a problem with DeSantis running. I don't even mind the douchebag move of trying to undercut the guy who helped him. Politics is a rough business. Hell, I was an early cheerleader for his run. Great Governor for my childhood state. My problem is that he's proven to be a lousy and uninspiring candidate at the national level. He truly sucks at this. No wonder he had to go, tears in his eyes, simpering to Trump (who I also have problems with) to get him over the finish line.

Still maintain that they (the top 4 or 5 anyway) should debate. The idea of a coronation sickens me.

Apparently he admitted to running in 2020 Faux News Interview.
Last I checked Faux News is different than the National Pulse.

I’ve basically said this in posts I’ve made on other threads. Running for President isn’t something you decide overnight. It takes planning, backing, etc., and those things take time. He lied to the people of Florida last November, because he knew full-well by then that he was going to run in 2024. This past May, he managed to get the Sunshine Laws changed that pertain to his past and future travel records, making them out of bounds for the public, and media. On the day he announced his run, he signed the revised version of the Resign-to-Run Law, so he could remain in office while he pursued The White House. The only other Florida Governor who did that in recent times was Charlies Crist, because he thought he might be McCain’s V.P. candidate. Rick Scott changed the law back to its original form, until DeSantis decided he needed it overturned again, in order to continue to get a pay check.

See post 6. I've done some digging into the blogger from the UK

Yeah... IF. The National Pulse has been known to (often) lie

“The idea of a coronation sickens me.”

How many times in American history has the incumbent president been challenged to a second term by members of his own party, or has been challenged successfully? Most of the time, it is in fact a coronation.

Does that sicken you?

When you have a good horse, you ride it.

This idea that Trump has to start out even with the ankle biters as if he never ran, against all odds, one of the most successful administration in history is outlandish.

There is little ingrate DeSantis, with a Republican legislature — a litle fish in a little pond. He has moved out to where the sharks are, an he doesn’t like it.

He’s not the incumbent. Yes, the election was rigged, but the fact is Trump is not sitting in the offal office, is he? He’s a private citizen. They need to debate. I’m betting on Trump prevailing.

What evidence do you have that that the national pulse often lies?

I’m not sure they’d let Trump ‘debate’ much. If he were on the stage they’d probably call him a liar every other sentence.

I don’t care about debates. Biden skipped the last one in 2020 because Trump wouldn’t do it virtually. Biden will not do a single one in 2024 because he will “refuse to recognize Trump as legitimate”, “refuse to dignify an insurrectionist”, etc.

As for republican debates, they are not even debates. They are joint press conferences, set up by the leftist League of Women Voters, and heavily moderated by rabid anti-Trump “journalists” who immediately intervene to help Trump’s opponents, and spread dishonest “fact checking”.

These debates are utterly worthless.

Decided 2 years ago, so even more of a reason to walk away…

Two years of planning for this stillborne campaign..

Lied to the Fl voters and has a campaign that is a laughing stock

Nice knowing you Ron, you have no chance now of ever winning national elected office.

I don’t care about debates.

I don't care that you don't care. The candidates - all of them - need to put on their big boy pants and step up.
