You are right on some points but DeSantis can’t be the running mate. It has something to do with the electoral college. That’s why Cheny changed primary residence to his house in Wyoming instead of Texas where Bush was from.

I have mentioned this elsewhere. The Democrats always stand united. They do not vilify Biden, or Hillary, or Harris, or Newsom, or whomever.
Not us. We can’t just disagree with those Republicans who don’t match our beliefs. We must sling all sorts of mud. Christie mocks Trump. Trump mocks Romney. Pence whines about everything. Etc. On and on it goes.

I think you have an incorrect timeline.
Trump was attacking Ron long before Ron ever got into the race. This feud got started last November, and Ron didn’t announce until May.
Why was Trump upset? Because Ron wouldn’t give Trump a free ride or pay him homage.

My hope is that we have these debates in the primary season, then unite in the general election behind the nominees for president and vice-president.
Some Trump supporters say they won’t vote for any other Republican. If enough do that, it guarantees another four years of Biden or other Democrat. But some Trump supporters say that’s what they will do.
I have yet to hear any Trump supporters say what they will do, if Trump’s running mate is someone they don’t like. Almost all nationally known Republicans are criticized on Free Republic for one reason or another. But unless Trump thinks totally outside the box, one of those flawed Republicans will be Trump’s running mate.
