U.S. OFFICIAL HINTS AT POSSIBLE PLEA DEAL FOR JULIAN ASSANGE

The U.S. ambassador to Australia said there could be a “resolution” to the Justice Department’s pursuit of Assange.

THE UNITED STATES is considering a plea deal that would allow WikiLeaks founder and whistleblower Julian Assange to return to Australia, the Sydney Morning Herald reported Monday.

U.S. Ambassador to Australia Caroline Kennedy told the Morning Herald that there could be a “resolution” to Assange’s now-four-year detention in Britain. Assange, an Australian citizen, has been held in a London prison since 2019 while combating U.S. extradition efforts. He faces 18 criminal charges in the U.S., 17 of which allege violations of the Espionage Act.

Kennedy’s comments come weeks after U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken rebuffed Australia’s calls to end the prosecution against Assange. After a July meeting with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Brisbane, Blinken said the whistleblower was “charged with very serious criminal conduct” for his role in publishing classified American government materials. The files Assange shared in 2010 included footage of a U.S. airstrike in Baghdad that killed 18 civilians — including journalists — and hundreds of thousands of field reports from the Iraq War.

This is something I never imagined.

Maybe they have convinced him to denounce Trump as a condition of his release from long-term illegal detention, isolation and mental torture.

Nah, I think the only reason he is still alive is that he has leverage. He’s got secrets he hasn’t released that they want kept secret, and they have not yet figured out who is holding that data dump for him.

Assange-Did he or did he not have a role in Trump’s 2016 victory?

If I was him, I wouldn’t take it.

Yes, they can kill him in jail. But maybe the British jail is a bit different than ones here. ie Epstein.

If he gets a deal and can come to the states, he’s a dead man walking.

Trump could’ve pardoned Assange.

Instead, he pardoned Kwame Kilpatrick, Rod Blagojevich, and a whole slew of black drug dealers and Wall Street swindlers.

I am guessing Assange has control of a “dead man’s switch” which will release even MORE damning evidence if Assange is killed.

I think Assange has this evidence which names the powerful people and proves they are personally responsible for treason, extortion and probably murder.

We could use some dirt on the Justice Dept., FBI, CIA, etc. right about now! Cut a deal and let him get back to work digging up the dirty deeds. (Semi tongue in cheek).

All true, Snowden should have gotten a pass as well.

The two biggest exposures of the deep state got left hanging, while druggies and rappers got passes. Same for the largest convicted employer of illegal aliens, he got a pass as well, and that one was early in the admin. So you knew the admin wasn't gonna take illegals serious.

All he needs to do is testify against DJT.

Open question; why didn’t President Trump pardon Assange (or others he didn’t)? Curious what the missing pieces of info in these cases are that equalled no pardon.
