Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has a canned response when asked any question related to the events of January 6, 2021: It’s time to move on.
On the campaign trail, DeSantis often claims that January 6 will be a losing issue in the general election. The governor repeated that warning at the debate in Milwaukee on Wednesday night, insisting the 2024 election “is not about January 6 of 2021, it’s about January 20 of 2025.”
DeSantis has neatly sidestepped the matter of January 6 since announcing his run for president, entirely avoiding any mention of the date until recently. Radio show host Clay Travis asked DeSantis in May whether he would consider pardoning January 6 defendants if he became president; DeSantis pivoted away from the question to instead talk about the DOJs targeting of pro-life activists and parents protesting at school board meetings.
When pressed, DeSantis again refused to directly reply. “[Any] example of disfavored treatment based on politics or weaponization would be included in that review, no matter how small or how big.”
[snip]
Yet no matter how hard DeSantis tries to rewrite the account of January 6 or wish away the issue on the campaign trail, it’s not going anywhere. And contrary to his claims, it is Democrats, not Republicans, who plan to make January 6 a key if not the top issue in the 2024 election.
Proceedings in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s federal case and Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis’ state case will remain the focus of Joe Biden’s re-election campaign. Team Biden plans to remind Americans every day how close Donald Trump came to “overthrowing democracy” on January 6 and that the country cannot take a chance by electing the MAGA-Terrorist-In-Chief again. That strategy also will apply to DeSantis if he is the nominee.

Da Meatball has a yellow racing stripe down his back.
They are not upset about January 6. They are upset about having to take a stand against the Swamp. That Swamp they are a part of.
It’s why they are all disqualified. Only the Vivek guy has not done 7 yrs in politics, and that is the ONLY issue.
I think all the candidates are willing to toss Trump to the alligators or under the bus in hopes that the left will be satisfied with that win and then not come after them. If they think such a thing, they are about to be in for a big surprise. Do they not recall how even Pence (the left’s new best buddy) was treated just a couple years ago? Romney? McCain (who they now quote and revere as if the ultimate preferred GOP candidate)?
So, which is it?
PubbieTards gonna pubbtard.
True words friend.

Hey Ron, something like "moveon dot org" would be a great name for a website.
No wait, it's already taken. Too bad.
DeSantis is a weak man and nobody should count on him taking down any corruption in the federal government. He’s a go-along to get along. Not up to the job.
I think his point was that the Dems want us to get bogged down in this, primarily in a defensive mode, which will stop us from having any plans for the future and will stop us from dealing with the real problem, which is the corruption of our very own DOJ and all related “justice department” entities, practically down to the county level.
He also mentioned the corrupt and ideologically motivated Soros prosecutors he has removed an FLorida, and how this needed to be done on a national scale. But I think the candidate with the irritating voice started to yip at that point and in any case everybody else was afraid to even mention the name “Soros.”
People need to have a long-term plan to restore our system and our Constitutional rights and liberties. If we dawdle, the Dems will find some way to make our Constitution itself illegal and we’ll all end up in reeducation camps. It’s happening in Canada, in Germany, and in a host of countries that have criminalized any speech that opposes a government policy.
Jan 6 and the corrupt 2020 election are genuine issues, but nobody seems to be taking them up in a larger context and for many people, it’s all about Trump personally and they get stuck at this point (both people who like him and those who don’t).
So the point has got to be made that this doesn’t affect “just” Trump but that it’s part of a larger problem.
It should be clear by now that Ron DeSantis is NOT a fighter if he doesn’t have a team of like minds backing him up. Alone he is just like any other politician checking to see which way the wind blows.
Ron DeSantis is nowhere near being what Trump is, Trump stands by himself and fights.
Where are our leaders in Congress? Why haven’t they called for a vote of confidence for our President Trump?
It is all about our founding principle of Government by Consent.
Anyone who does not get that concept is not worthy of the job.
We had the Nancy J6 committee, which shredded their data after they finished.
But has anyone produced a full report on J6?
