Casey DeSantis was being criticized for a specific reason - her ambition and control over DeSantis and his campaign. This ‘criticism’ of Melania is for her NOT being involved in Trump’s campaign. In truth that criticism is no criticism at all. We vote for presidents, not first ladies. If/when it appears that a candidate’s spouse is the real power behind the scenes, that’s something the voters need to know about.

Melania Trump is a paragon of femininity. She never upstages her husband, does not seek the limelight for herself, nor does she ever embarrass him.
She also hates Washington DC, and thinks it (figuratively) stinks like sh** - which is also correct.
Actually, it isn't an example of "fair is fair". Casey DeSantis, as announced by Ronny's handlers, is a central and influencial component of the campaign --- a vital speaker on behalf of "the governor's" human side and their parenting skills.
It is for her execution of *this* role that she is critized. No other spouse, other than Jill Biden, has assumed this position, and no other spouse has been critizied.
