Speaking of astroturfing:

https://www.wsj.com/articles/poll-rigging-for-trump-and-creating-womenforcohen-one-it-firms-work-order-11547722801
[In early 2015, a man who runs a small technology company showed up at Trump Tower to collect $50,000 for having helped Michael Cohen, then Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, try to rig online polls in his boss’s favor before the presidential campaign.

In his Trump Organization office, Mr. Cohen surprised the man, John Gauger, by giving him both a blue Walmart bag containing between $12,000 and $13,000 in cash and, randomly, a boxing glove that Mr. Cohen said had been worn by a Brazilian mixed-martial arts fighter, Mr. Gauger said.]

LOL, what else would you expect a loser to say? My God! This guy can’t win a single state in the country. Hell he’s losing in his own home state by like 40 points. Not a chance he will even be able to come in second place. crispy cream is more popular then desanctomonious, how much worse could he possibly do?

They’re now making Memes of that legendary picture...

DeSantis’s wife should have known that there would be MAGA at a football game - but I guess nobody is perfect.

At least DeSantis is doing better than Mike Pence.
I don’t hear much about Pence, one way or another.

He took the gig because “they promised” they were going to stop Pres. Trump from running. In that case runner up sounds good.

“a second-place finish is good enough to continue”

DeSantis must know something or have a feel for coming events.

The Journal story identifies two polls, one from CNBC in January 2014 that ranked the “top business leaders” in America. That poll was done before Donald Trump entered the presidential race in 2014. According to the poll, Trump was not in the top 100.

In 2015, a Drudge Report poll was also allegedly rigged by Gauger. Although that poll only gave Trump 5 percent of the vote among other prospective Republican presidential nominees.

““a second-place finish is good enough to continue””

a DISTANT second place after putting nearly all of ones resources in achieving such a small result does NOT bode well in going forward into the rest of the states with little or no resources ... my guess is that is there’s going to be LOTS of “re-evaluation” going on by big campaign donors if Trump blows away the rest of the primary field ion Iowa ...

Bingo. DeSantis and the rest of the field are like ghouls in the shadows, hoping the #1 guy has an “accident” of some sort.

I understand this thinking. He’s assuming that if Trump gets convicted of something and drops out, that makes him the candidate by default.

Yes, there’s a HUGE hole in his thinking.

In DeSantis’ case, he should have waited to see if DJT was eliminated. Stepping in after the fact looks a lot better than running against DJT, and would have been less likely to ruin his 2028 chances.

Trump’s business record is of endless sleaze, unpaid vendors, lawyers, labor violatons - you name it, he’s done it. Why would this be any different? I like how he leases his plane to his campaign so he can use PAC donor money to pay himself. Big money donors see this self-dealing and have decided to stay away despite his support for Bud Light and Disney.

Trump is too old. I want a president that I can depend on, not a president with Depends on. No wonder you obsess about RDS day in and day out. He is young and gets results without all of the needless blathering.

“But the reality is, on the ballot there are other choices, and our goal is to get this down to a two-person race on the ballot, especially as we head into South Carolina and beyond into March.”

The outcome in Iowa has little bearing or influence, if any, on what other states will do. Basically that sentence means nothing whatsoever.

So why are you guys here pimping for DeSantis since Trump has no chance anyway?
