I was looking up something else (Joseph's lead coffin) and noticed the leaf in the translation:

חז"ל אומרים שמשה עמד על שפת הנילוס וקרא ליוסף לבוא ולצאת עם בני ישראל, ואם לא, אזי יהיו פטורים משבועתם. אחרים טוענים שמשה כתב על פיסת פפירוס את המילים "עלה שור" (השור מסמל את יוסף) והארון צף למעלה. אחד מ"רשעי ישראל", שראה את זה, לקח את הפפירוס ושמר אותו לשימוש חוזר (בהמשך נדע מה עשה בו)

Others claim that Moses wrote on a piece of papyrus the words "ox leaf" (the bull symbolizes Joseph) and the ark floats up. The web mistranslation of leaf (al-eh) instead of rise (al-ah!) isn't just a play on "Leave, Ox!", it's the actual wording. The context of course is of bringing Joseph's coffin up and onto shore before anyone could go anywhere.

Just above that part it translates:

Yeah, ain't that the truth. Earlier today I had headed over to Klein's etymology in the neighborhood of the letter bet. I still had the page open:

Anyone familiar with the ancient traditions will recall the part about "seven things created before the Creation of the world." So on that thought -- the [enlarged] letter bet being the first letter of the Torah -- I was curious in checking the entries ahead of it. So that's what I did. See link for the details, but here's the gist:

That's okay. I've been the person everyone has scrolled right past since day one, so I'm quite used to it. The internet eventually caught up so as to make the analogy, heh.
