I don’t find it extraordinary that small 4 cylinder aluminum engine blocks melted. Some alloys start melting just over 1000 degrees F. Aluminum melts just over 1200 degree F. No doubt there were pockets that hot around cars fueled by all the combustibles in a car. Possible leaving only leaving pieces with iron content.

But glass melts at 2600 F.

The size of the power source for such a weapon would require a ship or MRAP sized truck. You are not putting that on a drone or aircraft that goes unnoticed.
The fire was caused by dry grass, high winds, and lots of fuel on the ground. A cigarette could have caused this.
