I speak with a lot of young adults on the college campuses, and here's what they tell me - quite different from what Camel-face says:

1) They don't want to get married.

Young ladies look at guys as slobs playing video games into their 30's, while the ladies are on crusades for "equity" and to "save the planet". They wonder why guys don't 'love' them.

Young men look at ladies as self-centered egoists who want to control everything and be the leader. Instead of exerting their role - they play into their "fight" or "flight" response and choose "flight", hence the video games and wasting their lives away. They wonder why ladies don't give them what they desire: "respect".

The young ladies hit their late 30's and realize that society lied to them, and they really, truly won't be having children. Then they turn into the most bitter hags imaginable. Guys turn into wimps - never learning to fight - always engaged in flight.

2.) They don't want children

Even outside of marriage they don't want children. They truly believe that the world is so lost that they wouldn't want to bring another human into it. They attempt to replace babies with dogs and cats - going to far as to buy strollers for them.

3.) They have given up on a home purchase.

They simply can't afford it. They grew up in a "give it to me now" culture and have massive debt, instead of the savings of a down payment. Even a down payment is useless with the current home "values" and interest rates.

Simply put - the younger generation has pretty much lost all hope. We can blame them, but the generations above them raised them.

Now you know why they major in Underwater Basket Weaving. They have no direction or hope to do anything else.
