Premium POLITICO: Fighting against the USSR didn't necessarily make you a Nazi Brett T. 8:30 PM I appreciate Twitchy favorite @bonchieredstate for drawing my attention to this POLITICO piece. As you know, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Canadian Parliament gave not one but two standing ovations to a World War II veteran who'd fought against the Russians … who happened to be our allies at the time. That didn't ring a bell with anyone … he fought the Russians, so let's give him a round of applause.
I bring this up because when POLITICO wrote their take on the debacle, they referred to Yaroslav Hunka as "Nazi-linked."

As I reported recently, Secretary of State Antony Blinken brought up the anniversary of the massacre and got hit with Community Notes filling in the gaps he left:
Soviet prisoners of war (POWs) were among the people who were massacred at Babyn Yar. The Soviets liberated Babyn Yar and Kiev in 1943. The Soviets held a trial in 1946 in Kiev for 15 German policemen involved in the Babyn Yar massacres.
As POLITICO would say, "It's complicated."

Let us not quibble over inconvenient details.....
If I had my way, I would ensure that no U.S. troops would ever be deployed on foreign soil unless it was part of a plan to have that foreign soil become part of the U.S. -- first as a territory that operates under U.S. law, then as one or more states.
Azov is an ocean. We don’t typically ally with bodies of water.

MAGA voters are Nazis.
Vaccine skeptics are Nazis.

Canadian truckers are Nazis.
You know who aren’t Nazis?
The Waffen SS.
That’s actually a little more complicated.
They say that the Battle of Dien Bien Phu was the last defeat of the Waffen SS, because so many of them joined the French Foreign Legion after the war.
Foreigners weren't allowed into the regular German Army. Many of them were prisoners of war facing starvation. I'm not defending them, just saying that it is indeed complicated. I am a bit skeptical of all the claims made about the German Army. They were very much for Hitler -- until they weren't any more.
Russians committed genocide against Ukraine in Holomodor .... but we are supposed to be outraged that a Ukrainian fought against Russia in WW2. Clown world.
Of course in the West we aren’t allowed to learn about Holomodor because it shines a bad line on communism, so we can excuse the ignorance of many.
I don’t know how that rumor that there were Nazis in Germany ever got started.
