1 in 10 college students support the murder, rape and kidnapping of Israeli civilians. Only 2 out of 3 can even bring themselves to call it terrorism. 1 in 5 are not even sure how to define it, but don’t want to call it terrorism.
These are catastrophic numbers for what should have been the lowest of low bars, horrifying atrocities against civilians caught on video and recorded in photos, widely discussed and made available, and not even 70% will call it terrorism.
The numbers predictably get worse with party and race breakdowns.

My response is the opposite: I am surprised that it’s only 10%, and that over 2/3 consider Hamas as terrorist. I suspect the same figures would have described college reaction to the Nazis in 1940, 10% support and 70% strong opposition.
God created man with free will that he can choose between good and evil. Here we can see willful choosing in stark terms. Of course this flies in the face of all people who reject the idea of free will---not realizing their rejection is also an instance of willful choice.
When or if such terrorisms come to America. The perpetrators will not be taking time to determine what religion, what political affiliation, what race, whether or not there is support for their actions and whether one is man, woman or child. The terrorists will kill because killing is what terrorists do. I wish all students supporting the actions of hamas luck. I pray those students never experience what Israelis have experienced.
Was Pearl Harbor terrorism? What Hamas did was not terrorism. It was a declaration of war, mostly by Iran.
Well, war by default is terrorism but the word terrorism has been co-opted to mean non-sanctioned entities engaged in illegal warfare. My read is a group is called a terrorist group because the elites do not like it when their same tactics of warfare are used against them.

Given my own experiences during undergrad in the Early 2000s, I’d peg that number as closer to 6/10, and probably even higher these days.
Judging by social media, and every single art and writing board I belong to, if you even TRY and post something supportive of Israel, you do so strictly at your own peril. People are losing their minds on DeviantArt right now, because the site admins have DARED to put up a “Peace For Israel” banner, rather than the currently “acceptable” viewpoint of “Free Palestine”.
I was in undergrad, and just coming out of lecture on 9/11, and literally the day after the towers came down, there were student groups on campus claiming that it was an “Inside Job” perpetrated by Mossad.
Likewise, Israeli Apartheid Week (IAW) and Boycott Divest Sanction (BDS) were some of the most powerful voices on campus as early as 2005.
Most campuses in the western world have been fed a steady diet of Muslim Brotherhood propaganda, and Anti-Semitism for well over two decades now.
