I met Gates years back. We used to have computer club meetings where everyone showed up with various programs (floppy discs) and would demonstrate them. We called him “stinky” because he never seemed to bathe.

As a Generation X programmer there's part of me that owes Gates a debt of gratitude for pushing the BASIC programming language into the mainstream and having Microsoft make OS's for various cheap computers (i.e. Commodore 64) with a BASIC interpreter. That made it easier for a lot of us then teens to learn how to code reading books before we were old enough to drive and make a career out of software.

But he is evil in so many ways, particularly in making much of his wealth the past few decades pushing cult-like beliefs to support his messiah complex that only he can save the world...from things most of which don't even exist.
