Another good one, John.

The speed governors are just another link in the chain by which the elites mean to bind us into submission. Ultimately, no personal transportation, only common public transport, and precious little of that because we'll all be constrained to small places ("15-minute cities").

Power-mad control freaks, these bass turds are creating hell on Earth, one step at a time.

So if you’re behind a truck spewing gravel, you just have to follow until your windshield shatters. Have I got that right?

Politicians’ motorcades routinely drive much faster than the posted speed limits. You must understand the vehicles of these elites WILL HAVE NO SUCH LIMITS INSTALLED.

There are times when rapid acceleration is mandatory to evade or avoid an accident.

This is more tyranny by the all-powerful government and these limitations will not apply to the scoundrels mandating these limitations.

It’s the wrong speed for the conditions that is always dangerous, regardless of the posted limit.

"Feds Want to Control Auto Speeds"

I suppose if you could hack the speed control you could sort-of point a vehicle, like a truck for example, at some particular building that annoys you, start the vehicle and then set the speed control for ramming speed.

It took this second thread for me to remember the SF story The Marching Morons by Cyril Kornbluth (1951 story).(someone posted on FR there is a similar movie plot by someone else).
Part of story synopsis——
People of higher intelligence often chose to have few children (or no children at all) for pragmatic reasons, while people of lower intelligence, compelled by their sex drives, had larger families and reproduced in greater numbers.
The simple-minded morons cannot be left to govern themselves or else the world will descend into chaos and war.

/////////////////////////////////////
Then the higher IQ people have to take care of the dumb ones and run everything for them.

So one thing they elites did for the low IQ people was have cars that could never go very fast. The speedometers would say 60 or 80 mph but the real speed was 15 or 25 mph. The drivers would be thrilled they were going fast.

This will make overtaking vehicles while travelling in the mountains rather problematic, I think. Then there is the whole “coasting downhill” situation, though newer cars already brake if cruise control is engaged and the vehicle exceeds the posted limit by a certain amount.

Speed is not a cause.

It is a contributor to the effect.

Revoking a license and amputation of both legs at the hip seems like a much better idea.

On October 30th I lost a good friend to a distracted driver who blew through a crossroads onto 17N and T-boned. My friend died before sunup 10 hours later and his widow is still hospitalized.

Why the driver was not charged with anything beyond reckless driving is beyond me.

Speed cameras issue citations with the picture of the vehicle at the scene.

The driver gets photographed, continues on their merry way, and gets mailed the citation a week or so later.

So, those systems have tens of millions of pictures of cars going over the speed limit, yet not one picture of an accident.

Think about that.

I drive 5 miles under the limit, in the left lane, with my blinker on.

A number of states already have posted speed limits that are quite shocking to our 15-minute-city-dwelling betters (e.g. 75 and 80 on most Texas interstates), and more red states will raises theirs in response to this diktat. So our brilliant federal planners are soon going to have to go back to imposing national speed limits.

Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg called the ISA "a foolproof option for saving lives. By making it impossible for any driver to successfully break the law we will also achieve more of the unity that President Biden has set as the main goal of his administration."
