Did you ever think that autonomous killer drones would never be built? The worms are out of the can.

Did you ever think this technoloy would not be abused?

It’s only a question of “who,” and “how soon?”

Never, never, NEVER give unsupervised access to instruments of Finance or Weapons.

(A.I. Will undoubtedly be given both at some point, even if that hasn’t already happened.)

It will absolutely be abused, because that's what people do. While most folks look at the usefulness of AI in a fairly myopic way -- "it'll be used to tell the truth, or to defeat your ideological opponents" -- the real danger, and to humanity, hasn't been considered by most. And we're not even talking about a true, self-aware AI, but the "AI" that's here, or soon will be.

AI, as in its primitive state, can make you something you're not. While that'll mostly be benign -- someone who's never painted can be an artist, or someone who's never played an instrument can be a musician -- nefarious people can use it for evil purposes. Through AI, it may become possible to be a chemist, or a biologist, and have AI create a bio weapon for you. Or maybe you can become a hacker, and have AI create a software program to break into banks, hospitals, government institutions, utility services or even military facilities. The possibilities will be endless -- you only need to be able to tell the AI what you want, and it'll spit it out.

It has the potential to be very beneficial to society, but also very, very destructive.
