I’m a subject matter of sorts for a certain topic and occasionally access Wiki just to see what they say. I’ve found the information there to be less than accurate.
It appears just about anyone can edit it, and those with ulterior motives can create just about any truth they choose.
Wiki has turned out to be another version of the left’s “fact checking”, which is nothing more than a tool used to verify an absolute lie as being the truth. The sheep suck it up as fast as they suck up extra covid boosters.
Indeed. A lot of years ago I tried editing the bio of Rush Limbaugh. Contained in his Wikipedia entry was a falsehood about what he did and said on his old tv show. The source for this inaccurate description of events was a column in the Washington post by a liberal Rush hating columnist.
Armed with a partial, but official transcript of the real event, I edited Rush’s bio to reflect the truth of what really happened. A wiki editor, an official one, scrubbed my edit and put back the old falsehoods, justifying his action with the fact that his (inaccurate) version was in print someplace. Mine was not.
I edited it again, he edited it back. He then shut down Rush’s bio from being edited for 6 months.
I don’t know how many years passed before a video clip of the real version on Rush’s show surfaced somewhere on youtube. It positively, accurately matched my transcript word for word.
Someone then edited Rush’s bio to reflect that true version of events and it stayed up for quite a while. But I don’t know how long time passed before the first inaccurate version of events as described by the Washington post columnist was put back. And its still there the last time I checked.
And they beg me for donations on their site.
