(In reality, these experts are essentially quibbling over details, not attacking foundational theory.)
So now these Creationists can deliver their verbal broadsides - without ever actually trying to grasp what these critics are really saying (hint: they are still materialists, still proceed from the plausible assumption that only prosaic geo-physical and biochemical mechanisms and processes gave rise to Life).

One of the most damaging is Darwin’s theory of evolution. It was “confirmed” as settled science, and the correct conclusion, its corollary, was that the Bible was fiction and there is no God.
However, later science confirmed that Darwin’s writings were fiction, but the fictitious corollary was, ahem, allowed to stay in place, as firm as ever.
There is nothing in science known iwn as “Darwinism”. What’s possibly mean is evolutionary biology, a fact based science closely related to modern genetics. It’s validity is tested thousands of times every day in labs all over the world.
They believe in evolution. They don’t like it, and they want to stop it.
Any “scientist” today who refuses to recognize the distinction between adaptation and evolution is a fraud and should be ignored.
The core of Darwinian (and all other branches of) evolution is silliness.
My opinion, having considered many of the aspects of that model, is simply that evolution doesn’t exist as an actual scientific theory because foundational science doesn’t support it. Foundational science supports entropy, not self-correcting orderliness.
Another item is that there is no mathematical model that proves there’s a path from randomness to decisive determinism.
Final point for this short comment is that without a Creator there is no basis for logical, persistent physical laws, i.e., randomness is forever.

Shapiro specifically rejects the notion that random variations are introduced through accidental mutations in DNA. The standard neo-Darwinian model fails to take into consideration that the cell auto-corrects the errors in its DNA. Replication of the DNA strand, explains Shapiro, occurs with extreme precision and speed, and then a multistage process of proofreading takes place. This proofreading happens both during replication and afterward. “The efficiency of the mismatch repair system is about 99%, increasing replication… function within cells as checkpoints: they make sure that certain processes (some of which are incredibly complex) do not proceed until all the prior processes have been completed. It is not mechanical precision that ensures success in cellular tasks and reproduction. Rather, it is the layer upon layer of proofreading, auto-correcting, and quality control.”
From the article, quoting the scientists in question:

I kinda like that characterization. Reminds me of the current occupant.
And if they're really so opposed to "purpose," then why do they keep coming up with these plans to "save the earth" and achieve "social justice?" Why don't they just eat, drink, and be merry for tomorrow they die???
