So who actually owns this land? The Osage or the Kane family?
Osage owns the mineral rights. The company started digging and crushing limestone for the windmill bases and roads. Wind turbine people were stealing rock. Pretty straightforward.
They should have covered this in a contract or lawsuit before taking it.
I think surface is owned by the family, but mineral rights, etc are owned by the Osage. Splitting the rights happens quite a bit.
It said the Osage had purchased the land and mineral rights.
