Cause you would not click on a Pet Zealot thread. It is important for the person using Free Republic as a blog traffic booster for everyone to click on the Pet Zealot thread. It’s like the Medical Express guy who posts 5 or six times each day.

Australia is an amazing country populated by great,great people but it’s also the home of many horribly deadly creatures. My favorite is the Sydney funnel-web spider. It’s found in the gardens of suburban Sydney (and elsewhere) and can bite (and kill) someone who’s just trimming the roses in their front yard.

When I was a kid we'd go out on the levee and shoot water moccasins in the head and then, holding them by what remained of their heads, skin them with an Exacto knife before flinging their still writhing carcasses into the water to feed the fish.

I was our rite of passage.
