Florida governor Ron DeSantis still believes he is going to be the next president of the United States, despite flopping in all polls and placing distant second behind Donald Trump’s big win in Iowa.
[cut]
Speaking to his voters, DeSantis thanked them for their support and celebrated the result after critics “threw everything but the kitchen sink at us” and still insisted he will be the US’s 47th president.
“We’ve got a lot of work to do but I can tell you this, AS THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES I am going to get the job done for this country.”

IMO the rest are running for the nomination if something were to keep Trump from running (drops out, is kept out for various reasons)
They don’t really believe they can “beat” Trump, they are the backup.
I was already planning on voting for Trump in 24’ the day after the Rats stole the election from him in 20’.
He actually does think he can beat Trump. He and his campaign is blaming his loss in Iowa on “election interference,” and the weather.
Deep State continues to steal elections at will.
And high tech is the ONLY way to steal a landslide.
It’s called a spin cycle. Most spin cycles are ridiculous however, I think the purpose of a spin cycle is to walk away cleaner than if you just quit.
He’s still a governor of a red state, there is no shame in that.
I’ll watch the bullies pile on because that’s what bullies do.

Of course. That’s why not announcing the caucus winner before all the precinct locations are closed is important. They knew they wouldn’t win in Iowa. But Trump is going to be 78. He could have a heart attack or stroke next week. 2nd place is important.

🤪🥴🤦♂️🤦♀️🤷♂️🤷♀️
Ron and Nikki can think they are hanging around as seconds if Trump is somehow knocked out of the running, but the moment Donald names his running mate, that hope of theirs will fade like a snowball in an active volcano.
If Trump had eeked out a win in Iowa, I’d think maybe DeSantis had a chance. But that was a complete blowout in what’s effectively an open caucus.
No secret I’m a Trump supporter. That said, I will vote for and support ANYONE against Biden or whomever the Demscum end up running. Don’t think DeSantis would be a bad pick. A little waffly on Haley. She lost me when she was wishy washy about a man saying he’s a woman. Then again I’d still vote for her in the general. Heck, I’d vote for a ham sandwich against the Demscum.

Agreed.
Come the general election I would like to see a matchup of a Trump/ DeSantis ticket vs a Biden/Haley ticket. Haley is Kamala Harris without the word salad.
If Trump falters, I hope I’ll be able to vote for him.
He’s probably not wrong but perhaps off by 4 years.
The delusions are strong with Meatball.
I support RDS, but will vote GOP no matter what. I voted for DJT in 16 and 20, and believe 100% he was robbed and is being politically persecuted.
He deserves better, just don’t think he is the best man among the GOP choices.
Whatever, we could do worse.
If he drops out, would he endorse Halley?
This is meaningless. Virtually all candidates insist that they will win their election up until the very moment they suspend their campaigns. This is to keep the donation money coming in as long as possible.
