This story is getting more bizarre. If this weren't dangerous enough a subway line runs directly in front of the Lubavich Center. Interestingly another secret tunnel was built in Brooklyn, in 1845 The world's oldest subway tunnel under Atlantic Av near the present day Barclay Arena. A well respected Lubavich Rabbi, Menachem Schneerson, before he passed away called for this center to be expanded to accommodate more students. Surely what these guys did was NOT what the Rabbi had in mind 🤔

That “subway” tunnel in Brooklyn was never part of the subway but was built by the Long Island RR in 1844; it extended the Atlantic Avenue line east from Flatbush Avenue to the former Fulton Ferry location (now Fulton Ferry Landing) and was part of the LIRR’s original “rail-sail” service to Boston, where passengers would be again ferried from Greenport NY to Stonington CT.
