These people are sociopaths. Not simply content to indulge in lavish luxurious lifestyles, they have a destructive need to control as many people as possible.
They live in a bubble and have created realities that do not naturally exist. Then they seek to impose their realities and/or ideologies on others particularly on those that resist.
I believe that they thrive on conflict and domination and are no doubt Satanically influenced. Although God is sovereign, Satan is the temporal ruler of the world at this time and he certainly uses these types of people against God and God’s people.
