Baby, It’s Cold Outside! Electricity Prices UP 24.25% Under Bidenomics (NASDAQ To Commodity Ratio Near Dot.com Bubble High)

Baby, it’s cold outside! Of course, government still wants to ban natural gas and coal.

The average price of electricity has risen a whopping 24.25% under Biden and Bidenomics. Brrr!!

No wonder Biden only wants to talk about unlimited abortion and NOT the immigration (Fentanyl, child trafficing, crime, etc) fiasco at the border and continually rising prices. Or Biden’s growing wars.

The NASDAQ commodity index RATIO is getting back to dot.com era bubble levels.

What did they expect. They destroyed a major gas line coming from Russia to Germany. So, the Germans had to buy that gas from some other place. Much of it now comes from the USA & Qatar in the form of LNG.

The Europeans bid up the price of LNG on the world market. That effects what Eversource has to pay delivered Boston to run the electrical generation plants up here in NE.

The NET result is that electric bills for many customers, especially in New England DOUBLED.
Now, when people on my local Facebook page were complaining about this fact I asked them were they in favor of the proposed gas pipeline from PA through NY , MA and NH ?
Most never answered me because none of them wanted a 3’ diameter pipeline in their backyard(NIMBY).

It amazes me how the Dim voters think it's just cool that Obama forced many power companies to shutter coal plants and replace them with power plants fueled by "clean burning natural gas", then Biden makes it harder (thus more expensive) to get natural gas, which makes our power bills go up even more.

In the 12 power bills before Biden my true cost per kWh (after subtracting flat monthly fees, but including the fuel charge rate rider that the power company adds) ranged from 10.2¢ to 13.3¢ per kWh (average 12.7¢). In the past 12 power bills it was 14.0¢ to 16.7¢ (average 15.8¢). An increase of 24.9% in just 3 years.

Here in PA we have a saying:
Coal: No fuel like an old fuel.

Prepper Ping - It's not just your imagination the recent cost of inflation, especially on electrical energy
Check your own electricity bill this month, .. and drop two aspirins, and hold your nose !
Biden economics on fire !

(My Opinion) : TO be solely dependent on only one fuel energy source is foolhardy and ludicrous
Of course, as the demand increases, the costs will also go up.
This is the new 'Going Green' will lead to going bankrupt due to increased costs
Thank you Bidenomics, while we ignore the energy reserves underneath our ground .

That’s an interesting observation. The ratio looks to be poised for a reversion.

Mine, in Summer: $70, in Winter: $120.
Been that way for years, holding steady, so far.

“TO be solely dependent on only one fuel energy source is foolhardy and ludicrous”

ABSOLUTELY

In NH we have the Seabrook Nuclear power plant. It was given license to build TWO reactors back in the 1980s. They only built ONE. They should build the other one right next door while the existing reactor is still working.

We also have one of the last coal fired plants in New England. They typically only run it during peak demand times like July and January.

NH has multiple hydro electric dams on the various rivers in the state.

We have several plants that burn wood chips. These are the tops of trees(limbs, etc) that are too small to make a merchantable log out of. They chip these tops and blow them into a van and off to the power plant they go. It helps clean up the logging sites too.

NH has wind turbines on many ridges around the state.

There are a few solar farms and thousands of households with solar panels.

The remainder comes from burning natural gas. I believe it makes up the largest percentage of electric generation.

Thank you for the Ping

This is an aspect of bidenomics that the Liberals can’t hide. Even those not paying any attention to politics Will wonder why their bills are so much higher.

All they have to do is ask the right person or read the right article. This could help in november, assuming we actually get to have an election and the votes are counted properly. Big assumption

Oh, wait, it went up less than 2 percent.

Tolerance Sucks Rocks :" Oh, wait, it went up less than 2 percent."

That's the glory hole in winter because it's Florida
No hydropower there,.. because it is all Nuclear power, and heating demand is low in winter.
Now let's see what the price is during the 'Dog days' of late June, and July through early September with the demand for air conditioning.
Good One !

What percentage of the cost was to charge EVs?

This is the reason I went solar 4 months after Brandon took office, 6 months later made my home all-electric, and a year and a half ago got an EV and do most of our driving in it (and added onto the solar to compensate). I don't think solar is better than coal or natural gas or oil. But solar is the one energy source I can harness directly without many layers of control-freak bureaucracy mucking it up and making it way more expensive. Last year it provided 83% of the power we needed in our all-electric home, including charging the EV for 16K miles (not counting the other 10K miles we charged it away from home last year).

I had to pull only 17% of our power from the grid, buy a little gasoline for what little we drive the ICE pickup (fill it up maybe once every 2 months), pay for either power or gasoline for long trips (depending on which car we took), and swap out small propane tanks for gas grilling. In all of that, let's say we had to buy 25% of the energy we consumed. This means that the Dims' stupid warmageddon energy policies impacted us directly only a fourth as much. (Obviously there are still indirect ways it impacted our budget, such as fuel costs having an impact on food costs, etc.)

I wish I could figure out a way to mine my own coal or drill and process my own natural gas or oil. Those energy sources are much more efficient and dependable than solar, but I can't figure out how to harness them directly without having to buy them from an over-regulated market that's always under attack by communist Dims. And my ICE pickup in many ways is better than my EV car .... except that the ICE pickup can't be fueled by the one energy type I can create on my own (electricity created by solar).

Gotta save the planet. I was hit with 25% for my commercial electricity and the state just approved another rate hike because they are “going green” and golly gee, it is expensive. Oh yeah. And diesel is still $5 a gall.

My 'equal pay' monthly electrical bill just went up 30%, got the new bill yesterday.

Up here in Washington hydro power has been a main source of cheap electricity for years.

But now, democrats are removing dams to 'save the salmon' and our radical idiot Governor, (Climate-Change Jay Inslee), passed a carbon-offset tax scam that is raising costs on all energy.

We're screwed.

Some glory hole. I have gas heat, and I’m pretty sure gas is going up again. The distribution cost on its own is mind-blowing. LGB!
