Michael Jordan’s championship sneakers sell for record $8 million at auction

Basketball legend Michael Jordan won six NBA championships during
his prolific sporting career – and a set of the six sneakers he worewhen
clinching those titles has sold for a record-breaking $8 million at auction.

Friday’s winning bid for “The Dynasty Collection” reached $8,032,800,
setting a new global auction record for game-worn sneakers, according
to auction house Sotheby’s.

The set consisted of Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992),
Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997),
and Air Jordan XIV (1998).

I would presume the $8 million was a drop in the bucket for the buyer.

How stupid. I think something is psychologically wrong with someonne wanting so much to possess a celebrity ANYTHING!!! It’s like a weakness that seeks greater value in/for themselves because they feel they are not as “great” as the celebrity.

I have personally met a few celebrities in my life and never once even asked for an autograph. Just a hello, glad to meet you, pleasant conversation and that’s all. And, I did not even pretend to “gush” over meeting them. I was always just not excited at all.
