"Alleged" thieves...the painting is gone. It was stolen. Thieves broke in and took it. There's nothing "alleged" about it.

“Thieved”? A terrible use of the English language.
Nouns are not verbs.
“A thief stole a painting...”. Much easier to read without fabricated words and the horribly overused passive voice.

Thieved? Well it showed up and voice to text so maybe it is a real word. But I don’t like the way that any noun can be verbed in the youngest language.
