A Russian Space Nuke Absolutely Makes Sense in Military Terms

A high-altitude Nuclear-EMP (nuclearweaponsedproj.mit.edu/high-altitude-electromagnetic-pulse-emp-attack-scenario-against-usa) creates an electric free field incident (commonsensehome.com/electromagnetic-pulse-emp/) powerful enough to damage any microcircuitry onboard satellites (see: Starfish Prime Test (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starfish_Prime)), especially modern electronics due to increasingly thin structures (therefore electric breakthrough occurs already at relatively low voltages).

We are hardening military systems against such EM incidents by shielding (www.techtarget.com/whatis/definition/EM-shielding-electromagnetic-shielding), e.g. on a ship using its hull as a Faraday cage (containerauction.com/read-news/using-a-shipping-container-faraday-cage-to-survive-an-electromagnetic-pulse-emp-blast).

Some highly sensitive radiology sentilators can pinpoint orbital nukes and a number of nations including US already have them in orbit.

Violates the Outer Space Treaty of 1967.

The USSR was among the signatories. The Russian Federation is not the USSR.

The US pulled out of other nuclear agreements. Trust but Verify has become Suspect and Militarize.

Trust but Verify has become Suspect and Militarize.

Present US strategic thinkers throughout their careers have only known total US dominance abroad, unlimited fiat/debt to spend, and pliant sheep at home. All of his has been weaponized.

Reagan respected (and even made friends with) the Soviet leaders, because he understood, at least, they could destroy us.

That kind of humility does not exist today in Washington DC. Far worse, not only is there no humility, there's no institutional incentive to learn it, and DC has a woke ideological zeal and level of corruption/milking the system far greater than any time in the past

What is the USA’s greatest strategic advantage?

ISR - intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance.

So in a major war, what would level the playing-field quickly? Destroying as much as possible of above assets in one swift move.

“A Russian Space Nuke Absolutely Makes Sense”

A low altitude NATO nuke makes sense too.

Like about 1500 feet above Red Square.

Except it violates a Treaty.

It seems our leaders today just don’t care about treaties.

It a sign of a world that has lost its way.

The US govt is setting the stage to blame Russia for something it has done or will do to its own citizens.

Yes, that is the solution that one Zeeper thread after another has come up with. Unfortunately, if that was done... it is likely that Billions of people would die worldwide. I guess that no one told you that the Russians nuclear arsenal is both larger and better maintained than our own.

Hundreds of millions would perish from retaliatory nuclear blasts and then Billions more would die from famine, exposure and disease resulting from the complete breakdown of the world's economic system. It would be a free-for-all that the Russians are far better prepared for than the West. An advocate for your solution should be learning Russian and Chinese because they would are definitely the most likely to come out on top.

And of course your opinion that this would be a “cool thing” is all because of the foreign policy disaster that resulted largely from idiocy from the Biden administration.

While the "Space Cowboys" scenario is real I think what you wrote

DC has a woke ideological zeal and level of corruption/milking the system far greater than any time in the past

illustrates a far more dangerous problem. Pogo indeed.
