However, ABCNews.com chose "race and culture" (not medical) reporter Kiara Alfonseca to recruit a conga line of experts to insist that puberty blockers are a good idea on Wednesday in "England's NHS halts puberty blockers for transgender youth amid research efforts."

England’s National Health Service (NHS) announced this week that children will no longer be given puberty blocker prescriptions after experts concluded that there were serious safety concerns.
The NHS’ decision comes after it commissioned the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) to review the published evidence on Gonadotrophin Releasing Hormone Analogues (GnRHa), also known as puberty blockers, which prevent the body from making sex hormones that are needed for an individual to growth and develop into a healthy adult.

Munchausen syndrome by proxy is a mental illness and a form of child abuse. The caretaker of a child, most often a mother, either makes up fake symptoms or causes real symptoms to make it look like the child is sick.
What are the signs in a caretaker?
Most people with this problem are mothers with small children. Some are adult children taking care of an older parent.
The caretakers often work in health care and know a lot about medical care. They can describe the child’s symptoms in great medical detail. They like to be very involved with the health care team and are liked by the staff for the care they give the child.
These caretakers are very involved with their children. They seem devoted to the child. This makes it hard for health professionals to see a diagnosis of Munchausen syndrome by proxy.
What are the signs in a child?
In today’s “modern” America, the words “expert” and “professional” and the term “studies show” are truly undefined. They’re meaning is so fluid they can no longer be presumed to mean what they once meant ... for centuries.
