Nothing could be further from the truth. Trump has always been for immigration. In fact, he married an immigrant.
When immigrants are screened and come here legally, they are very welcome here.
What we are against is having an open border where they stream across in hordes and are granted privileges and access to entitlement that many citizens do not qualify for.
What we are especially against is other countries literally emptying their prisons and sending their very worst over here to terrorize and commit crimes against our citizens.
So yes, the Statue of Liberty and the message about sending us people "yearning to be free" should be celebrated. We want people that will contribute to our society, come here legally, and become legal citizens the correct way.
