The 8 states will outlaw any non-EV cars from being brought into their states........

In a way, I can’t wait to see this huge screw-up take place and for the citizens of the Marxist states to reap what they sowed/voted for. It will be a disaster par-excellance.....

First this is an actual tenth amendment issue. Where the feds do not have the charter or the legal standing via a law passed by Congress to ban ICE engines. The EPA is rouge in this case and Congress refuses to address the issue so the EPA has standing while Congress twiddle their.thumbs. That said the tenth amendment does give the individual states the power over everything not enumerated in articles one through three hence yes if a state wants to ban something they certainly can within their borders as our founders intended each state was prior to Lincolns illegal war against the states a sovereign state. The united States of America lower case was on purpose.

As for...

The neighboring states will do booming business.

No they won’t why because California will not allow a resident to go out of state bring back a vehicle them register it get a title or plates either. They already do this with 2010 or older diesel trucks you either modify the truck to post 2010 emissions standards or remove it from the state as it’s plates and.registration are voided out. California will do the same for out of state vehicles post model year 2030 or whatever the law will if it is not already in the laws will read no out of state vehicle purchased, acquired or imported by any means post model year 203X will be granted title, licence or registration.

That loophole won’t be there for sure. The other 8 states will all have similar laws on books passed by their legislature and signed by their governors so carrying full force of law not just some agency mandate.

States have the charter to make their own laws the commerce clause has been so abused. I would expect a challenge from outside states based on the CC but the Supremes historically don’t get into state in state.fights they just let things stand in each state as written.
