Gee, maybe this will bring back the good old days when you didn’t need a passport? Having lived in Maine awhile, we used to travel back & forth to Canada occasionally without one & surely never saw any need for one either.
Same in the good old days when I lived in the Buffalo area.
But now, passports are only for citizens, dontchaknow? Try to get back into the country as a citizen without a passport compared to the perks and freebies they are lavishing on the illegals.
Makes you want to learn some Spanish and pretend you're an illegal so you can get debit cards, free food, medical care, etc.
Some years ago, I had gotten used to being able to drive over the border just showing my US drivers license.
Nexus cards are easy to get, include TSA precheck, and get you fast lane access to the Canada border crossing in both directions where you basically will be glanced at, asked if you have anything to declare, and waved through.
