List Names and Quotes of Those Trying to Water Down the News of Saddam's Capture

Posted on 12/14/2003 8:07:40 AM PST by irish guard

Here we go, this is a thread for all of us to list the names and quotes from the talking heads who really don't like the news of Saddam's capture. I am certain this is going to be a long thread....

Robin Wright - The one thing to remember is that, even though we've got Saddam Hussein, Osama bin Laden is still out there," complained Washington Post reporter Robin Wright on NBC's "Meet the Press."

Barry McCaffrey - introduced by Tom Brokaw, "The news of Saddam's capture will most certainly lead to a short term increase in violence among the former Fedayeen and insurgents from other countries.

Previous possible winner:

Perky Ms. Couric, representing NBC:
"We (at NBC) all hope and pray that Saddam escaped harm, and hopefully fled to Syria."

I'm not surprised at all. In fact, let 'em keep jabberin'! Only morons (we'll allow them to define themselves) :D, would do anything but express sheer and utter jubilation.

Just imagine the personal hell that Hilliary is going thru at this moment! Heh, heh, heh.... LOL

It's gonna be a good news/talk radio week!

wesley Clark - Clark did not say who should try Saddam, but said the trial should be conducted with "the highest legal standards. There can be absolutely no doubt about the rights of the accused."

What an odd statement! Rights? Highest legal standards?

>>>>>>>>>>CNN's Paula Zahn and Aaron Brown just said " BUSH BETTER NOT GLOAT" <

By the way, I find this one the most offensive.....remember Paula and Aaron, Saddam is the guy who tried to kill Bush's dad in Kuwait....I think GWB gets to gloat all he wants.

Wesley Clark didn't say who should try Saddam because Bill Clinton hasn't yet told him. I bet he believes that Clark thinks Saddam should be turned over to the World Court.

Well, Bush addressed the nation, and didn't gloat. I'm sure this pleases Paula Zahn and Aaron Brown.

CNN is just a treasure trove....This from

Aaron Brown, who just now asked the new Iraqi Foreign Minister, "Will the Iraqi people accept the capture of Saddam Hussein?"
