I live in Arizona and my forebears were in Finland when the Civil War went down. I don't have a dog in this hunt. So this isn't North vs. South; it's good vs. evil.

When the US Constitution declared slaves 3/5 human it was evil. When the CSA constitution celebrated humans as "property," it was evil. Eventually, the U.S. saw the light and officially recognized slavery as evil. What's the argument here?

My bad. I jumped to the conclusion that CSA referred to the South.
