Fight over $60k "medical treatments" with tainted L.A. detox doc SEPTEMBER 14--A business associate of rock star Scott Stapp, the Creed frontman, claims that the singer failed to reimburse him $60,000 paid to a controversial Beverly Hills doctor known for his unorthodox drug detox treatments. In a lawsuit filed this month in Florida's Orange County Circuit Court, Jeffrey Cameron contends that he paid Dr. David Kipper "for certain medical treatments received" by Stapp during a three-month period in mid-2002. Cameron, who works for Stapp's management company, does not further describe those treatments in his complaint and he declined to provide additional details in a brief TSG interview. Kipper, who reportedly has a large celebrity clientele, has come under fire for his drug treatment technique, which has involved patients checking into swanky hotels for detox sessions. Last November, the Medical Board of California charged Kipper with gross negligence and unprofessional conduct for, among other things, overprescribing habit-forming drugs and running an illegal detox program. The state action could result in the revocation of Kipper's medical license. Earlier this year, Ozzy Osbourne filed a complaint with the state board alleging that, during 2002 and 2003, Kipper overprescribed him addictive drugs that left him addled and hooked on powerful antipyschotics and tranquilizers. Osbourne told the Los Angeles Times that Kipper charged him $650,000 for his services. (3 pages)
Creed is a Bush Basher? I don't think so, isn't creed kinda Christian oriented? Correct me if I'm wrong.
Kipper sounds more like a dealer than a doctor...LOL!
Perhaps, but I also heard he's a Bush basher.
The last good Christian rock band was Stryper, IMHO.
Some of the "softer" modern CCM is good, but as far as hard rock, Stryper rules!!
Whoops! According to this you're probably right
http://www.creed.com/
I must be confusing them with someone else...sorry, my bad :-(
((((embarrassed face)))))
What? Petra was way better. IMO.
I'm an old goat who never heard of Stryper.
So tell me: is his name pronounced Str-eye-per or Stripper?
Without his bandmates, Stapp set out to launch a solo career.
When Hollywood actor/director Mel Gibson came calling with an idea, the project was just what Stapp needed to jump start his solo gig.
Stapp was invited to view a private screening of a rough cut of "The Passion of the Christ," a film that would go on to be the second top-grossing film at the U.S. box office to-date in 2004. After watching the film, Stapp was asked if he would consider writing a song for an album of music inspired by the film.
"I think they reached out to me because a lot of people assumed, and rightfully so based on a lot of the analogies and references I made in my career with Creed, that I was a Christian or that we were a Christian band," Stapp said.
The result of the offer is "Relearn Love," the first single already at radio from "Passion of the Christ: Songs," which will be released Tuesday.
Just as an aside, I remember several years ago reading that this Scott guy injured himself very badly while making one of his music videos. The story, at the time, was about how he completed the video even though he was in incredible pain. Maybe it's a pain pill addiction that can happen to ANYBODY. He was also on O'Reilly about a year ago when O'Reilly was on his LUDACRIS rampage. Scott came on to talk about how there are bands out there with positive messages for kids. He just seemed like a pretty good guy.
I don't see what all the fuss is about, after all Ozzy turned out just fine. 8^)
Stryper (pronounced like striper). Four-man Christian hard rock/heavy metal band active from about 1984 till 1990. Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet, Oz Fox (excellent and overrated guitarist, IMHO), and Timothy Gaines). Disbanded in 1990.
Str-eye-per is correct.
Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......LOL! I can smell it from here!!!
"I don't see what all the fuss is about, after all Ozzy turned out just fine. 8^)"
I can understand Ozzy's angst, however, in that he could have achieved the same effect through a few LSD and PCP overdoses, which would have been far cheaper than the sum he paid to this "doctor" :-)
"Ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww......LOL! I can smell it from here!!!"
<<< feeling dejected due to the fact that the stoatputer doesn't transmit smells as yours apparently does
((((sad)))))
lol pretty soon somebody is going to charge a star for his good thoughts..........ok thatll be 2 mil cause I thought real good for ya !!!! check please.....I had no idea who this celeb is, never heard nor seen him, geees am I gettin old or what ?
Make that underrated...
Stapp isnt an idiot. He took prednisone for too long and it effected his health and nearly destroyed his voice. He then became depressed. He is a manic self critic and hated seeing negative things. He sought help during Creeds absence and they have since broke up.
His latest song, Relearn Love, is a very positive song I suggest people listen to.
On a dark and lonely highway...
I need the SON to raise my head.
I come before you
I am naked...
The man I am now must be shed.
Ive weathered storms and I am broken.
My beaten heart is in your hands...
What I really need is shelter and a chance
To relearn love...
Teach me all over
all over...
To relearn love...
Show me again...
So I can relearn love...
The Comfort of your arms around me...
Your tender hands caress my head
I lay beside you I m not worthy
This jaded mans not who I am
Ive touched the flame and Ive been burned
All I need is a second chance
Give me eyes of a child
And teach this man
to relearn love
Teach me all over
all over
To relearn love
.show me again
To relearn love
teach me all over
all over
To relearn love
show me again
So I can relearn love
I was selfish
but you still loved me
You gave the greatest gift of all and it set me free
When time means nothing and your world is standing still
Listen world hes calling when you feel me drop and kneel
Can you feel it?
Just remember, oh oh remember...
To relearn love
Relearn my love
Show me, show me
To relearn my love
Teach me now
now
Relearn my love
To relearn, relearn my love
So I can relearn love...
