Dear President Bush,
I am sure that you won't personally read this email but I truly hope that your staff passes along my support.
My wife sent this to President Bush the other day when she got fired up listening to that other guy speaking on some news program. I thought I'd share. I hope this works from out here without ending up as repeat posts (i.e. six of the same thing) because I get frequent "timed out"s and "error"s here. By the way, the weather is fantastic out here, it is hazy, and gray.
I am sure that you won't personally read this email but I truly hope that your staff passes along my support.
I am 46 years old and devoted 20 years of my life to helping with the destruction of chemical agents. I worked civil service for the United States Army at the Chemical Demil facility in Tooele, Utah.
I am the mother of a soldier, who spent a year on the ground in Iraq, his unit was 2/44 ADA, 101st Airborne Division. He turned 21 while waiting to make the push across Iraq. His name is Christopher Tongue-Tied, hometown, Tooele, Utah. He served proudly and professionally and has been forever changed. When he returned from Iraq, he was honest with his superiors in his need, after serving four years, and re-enlisting in Iraq, to come home. It was handled improperly by his higher command but that is another story.
He loves our Country and supports your administration.
I am the wife of a Naval Officer, who as I write this letter, is on a carrier somewhere. He has been a devoted "sailor" for almost 25 years. He is proud to say that you are his Commander and Chief.
I am the daughter of a World War 11 Veteran, who is my hero. He served our Country with honor in the Pacific. He now lives close to us in California, where we are stationed, because he is elderly and could not take care of my mother by himself.
I am writing to express my support and appreciation to you, Sir. I truly hope that you remain in office. When I listen to your speeches, I feel calmness because I truly feel in my heart that you care about our troops. It was hard to see my young son put in harms way and it was the longest year of my life, something I don't wish on any mother but understands that there are a lot of others going through the same thing. I feel what you are doing is necessary to protect us all. I pray for you every night sir, for your health, your peace of mind and for the continued strength to make the rough decisions that you have to make. I worry about what will happen to this Country if you lose the election because I feel that you truly have our best interests in mind.
Thank you Sir for your service to our Country and God Bless.
Respectfully, Missus Tongue-Tied Army Mom/Navy Wife
I'm "tongue-tied" and moved by your wife's e-mail. I hope for W's sake they pass this on to him. How wonderful it would be for our president to hear such heartfelt support.
Please give my best to Mrs. T-T and a big thank you hug to you and your son.
