Chris Mathews just stated that Cheney and Edwards have met prior to tonight Evidently they met at a prayer breakfast. The only reference I can find to this might be this link http://edwards.senate.gov/press/prayer_breakfast_2002.html

Wasn't Cheney talking about meeting Edwards on the Senate floor? And if they had, why didn't Edwards call him on it?

This is BS! They haven't met! Just because they were in the same building for a prayer breakfast does not mean they have met. For crying out loud, using the logic that they were at the same event, then you could say they have met for every State Of the Union Address! Jeez.
Must not have been much of a "meeting," if Edwards himself couldn't remember it either, and needed his wife to remind them both of the "meeting" after tonight's debate!

It sure didn't impress itself of the Vice President.
Besides those Washington things can have hundreds of people.
It completely misses the POINT, too. Cheney's POINT was that Edwards didn't do his job in the senate, not that he doesn't attend enough prayer breakfasts.
Cheney's comment spoke to meeting him in his Senatorial/political capacity. A prayer Breakfast doesn't count. ( I went to the National prayer breakfast during the Carter Administration and wouldn't say that I had met Cyrus Vance in any official -job related capacity even though I got his autograph on my program).
It doesn't say whether Cheney attended this or not.
The fact still remains that Cheney never saw Edwards in the Senate. Facts confirm that Edwards was hardly ever there.
He let down the very people who sent him to the Senate to represent them.
Edwards was channeling the money changers in the temple.
At a prayer breakfast? who Cares? The point was Edwards wasn't present in the Senate meetings.
Well then I guess the Breck Girl made a hell of an impression on him.
