Inundation (Vanity politics)

Posted on 10/30/2004 3:18:51 PM PDT by furball4paws

Since October 1, I have received 133 pieces of campaign junk mail, from US house race, US senate race and the presidential race. They break down as follows:

1. 18 Bush/Cheney. This includes all groups not just the official campaigns (holds for all the below too).

2. 2 Kerry/Edwards

3. 40 Dem senate

4. 43 Rep senate

5. 21 Dem house

6. 11 Rep house

7. 7 527's all democratic in slant, but not mentioning any candidate name.

There are still 2 mail deliveries to go so I can only believe that these numbers will increase.

In 2000, I received less than 10 such documents.

These are well printed and cost a lot of money, not including the postage.

My wife has received less than this, but still at least half. She throws them away. I have kept mine until next Wednesday.

Approximately 25 have come from official campaign sources.

Now, just how have we kept the money out of campaigns? Anybody being inundated like this or is it because I am officially registered as an "independent voter"?
