Armor and Common Sense (vanity)

Posted on 12/14/2004 4:07:00 PM PST by mojojockey

I am not a vetera, but I like learning things; after talking with folks who have served in Iraq I have seen new light shed on the subject of armor. 1)Better armor on a vehicle doesn't ensure the gunner on the vehicle will be saved 2)in WWII, and Vietnam almost every form of fighting had to be upgraded. This common sense is nice to keep in mind when the critics speak, if any of you have any other ideas to share, id like to hear.

Better armor on the vehicle doesn't necessarily ensure that the riders inside the Humvee will live, either. The first time my husband was in Iraq, there was an incident in which a very large explosion completely demolished an up-armored Humvee. The only person who lived was the gunner, and that's because he was blown from the vehicle. He wasn't in very good condition following the incident, though.

Are you TLBSHOW?? All you do is post vanities on existing topics and reply only on the ones you post instead of posting on the threads that already exist.

Well, maybe I'll post a few links to threads by the site owners about vanities, giving you the benefit of the doubt since you are new here so you can read them yourself. But first, this commercial:

Ok I am very familiar witht the politics of the Vietnam conflict, but on my upcoming exam my professor (liberal professor) insists on the facts of two components of Vietnam.....(a)What was the United States hoping to achieve? and (b)What was the role of domestic forces in the USA on the conduct of the war? (I'm not so sure what is meant by "domestic forces"!) But anyway, would love to invite any tid bits of information you guys might have.

I still do not understand conservatives who oppose NAFTA. From studying free trade, I think the free market moves assets to where they are needed the most. But a hour or so ago, I heard a fill in host on Michael Savage's show advocating that NAFTA isn't good for our country. He cited "outsourcing" as bad for this country, and saying that the messed up, harsh working conditions that China workers face, is what we will eventually face on American soil if we allow free trade economics such as NAFTA. I find this sort of logic, hard to follow.

I've heard a few good quotes about liberals... Liberals don't call anyone selfish for wanting other people's money, just those who want to keep their own. Liberals are like my pet kittens...always lookinf for handouts. Anybody wish to share a few others?

I know of some FReepers who say Laura Ingraham is much better than Rush Limbaugh. Since I don't get her on the radio where I live, I listen to Limbaugh. So is Laura really better than Limbaugh? If so why?

In class today we are discussing the purpose of the commerce clause, and its history in court. I have studied it, and can make a lot of sense out of various cases, but can some of you help me out on some of the basics to remember about the commerce clause's history of being invoked?

Ok I'm doing a paper for class where I am discussing talk radio and it's presentation of news. I have already submitted my rough draft, and my professor has made some points i need to address. They are as follows 1) I need to tell about the political impact of talk radio. 2) Is it really the case that talk radio is objective? The hosts can control who gets through and who doesnt. 3)Talk Radio does report news with a conservative slant. 4) (after observing my reference to newsmax.com stating that liberals control the print media newspapers) It would be...

Ok folks, many on FR have pointed out the absurditiy of someo of my posts. I am new on here, so im learning really quickly what I can and cant do, but I just love the ability to communicate with fellow conservatives around the country, and a lot of times i just want to put up a post that is likely to get some kind of response.

Let me re-word your phrase as it should have been typed:

"Im sorry I am bored......all i ever do is spend time on my computer 24/7 posting vanities"

I probably know you under your other name. sorry if I offend you. But after awhile it gets to be a nuisance wading thru the "one-idea-thought-threads".

Please go back thru my posts and compare our "vanities". I invite you.

From my profile "You've posted a total of 349 threads and 29,270 replies".

I guarantee I don't have near the number of vanity posts in my 4 years here (and 349 threads started) as you do in the 2-1/2 months you've been here.

But knock your socks off, this could be fun.

WTF...

I wasn't too happy when you posted and ran on me the other night...I saw this and wandered on in...I think he has you pegged.

I haven't been here too long myself, but I might be a little more circumspect about hanging a troll or DU tag on someone without more evidence.
