Screw France

Did you know that in 1965, when President Lyndon Johnson sent marines to the Dominican Republic to protect American citizens during a violent civil war, President Charles de Gaulle of France condemned the intervention. In a secret message to Washington, however, he asked for help defending the French Embassy. Johnson did so, but never heard a word of thanks, in public or private.

Why do we consider France an ally? Why does our government pretend to be so chummy with a nation whose government has made it policy to move farther away from us, to constantly try to counter our efforts, and does not have the common courtesy to thank the United States for our relatively freely given assistance? France is a pathetic country with to associate our selves and we should cut them loose.

France has been attempting for many years, even before the cold war ended, to remove the US military presence from Europe. France has for decades argued for a Europe defended by Europeans. It seems to be that they cannot stand to have the US Military in their back yard because it serves as not only a reminder of their pre-WWII and de Gaulle era overabundance of national militarist bluster, but also their truly pathetic record in not only offensive campaigns, but in the mere defense of their homeland.

Well fine, let the French defend themselves. Recently they have made an unlikely ally in the quest for a Europe defended Europeans; Germany. The US should remove all US forces from France and Germany. Whenever this has been proposed in the past however, both countries whine intolerably. It seems that US troops stationed in the region make up too large a section of local economies, well, how can France defend itself by itself when it won’t allow the US troops to leave areas that would have economic disturbance? A second action that should be taken is to deliver an ultimatum to the countries of NATO. Either France and their ‘Europe For Europeans’ buddies leave, or the US will leave along with all of our support, funding and troops.

Lets consider what will happen if we do take the course of withdrawing from the alliance with France. At worst, the French will only receive a minor economic void that would eventually disappear. However, if everything goes well, France will walk right into another European war and be given a good dose of humility. Who knows, maybe in a few decades we will be lucky enough to have France part of the Greater German Republic, or, better yet, a colony of the Peoples Republic of Cuba. But then of course we would then be asked to defend, but not interfere with, the Free French in Tahiti.

Perhaps were trying to past a "global test". Look what we're doing with Mexico. $38 billion dollars is being sent south of the border every year by illegals in this country according to Visa international. Mexico refused to back us in Iraq. Their people shout "Osama" at our Soccer players and the Mexican government prints and distributes a "how to guide" to get into the US illegally and get rights. Now we're making it easier for illegals to get mortgages. All those stories are on FR right now.

I'm just thankful that France isn't on our Southern Border.

Wasn't Mexico a French possession at one time?
